〖The Guitarist's Guide to Bach by Graham Wade(巴赫作品演奏指南)〗
Guitarists have responded to developments in scholarship with interest and action. Several players have produced well researched editions and recordings, and concerts show a new approach to ornamentation. To accommodate Baroque basses some performers have developed techniques on ten or eleven string - guitars and some of the leading recitalists have sought the advice of eminent Baroque scholars. The movement forwards has been dynamic and searching, altering beyond recall the scope of the guitar's possibilities.
This book, prepared for the tercentenary of Bach's birth, is an attempt to evaluate where we are now and where we have come from. Few solutions to the many problems of Bach interpretation will be offered - they will come from the living performances of great players and the energies of honest editors. Any book on Bach and the guitar should be like a travel guide to a large country - you will have to sort out your own difficulties when you get there with the authorities, the inhabitants and the terrain, but at least we can offer a reasonably comprehensive guide to the kind of problems you are definitely going to meet during the journey.
